The Unit of Medical Genomics of the GIGA Research Institute at the University of Liège is seeking applicants for an immediately available postdoctoral position in the area of complex disease genomics.
The objectives of the proposed research project are to analyze a unique dataset comprising integrated –omics data (SNP genotypes, DNA methylation, transcriptomics, microbiome, glycome and metabolome) on nine cell types (CD4, CD8, CD14, CD15, CD19, platelets, ileum, colon, rectum) for 300 healthy individuals (soon to be expanded to 750) in combination with the case-control cohort of the International IBD Genetics Consortium comprising more than 30,000 cases and controls in order to shed light on the molecular mechanisms underlying inherited predisposition to inflammatory diseases. The dataset also allows the study of functional interactions between the host and its gut microbiome.
The successful candidates will have a PhD degree in genetics/genomics or related field, and are expected to have a strong experience in bioinformatics and statistical genomics
All application documents (motivation letter, detailed curriculum vitae, contact details of references) should be emailed to email@example.com, with the subject heading: “UAG POSTDOC”.
